Vat Dyes Supplier

Vat dyes are extensively and most significant dyes for cotton and cellulosic fibers dyeing and printing as they exhibit excellent fastness including perspiration, light, washing, chlorine, and rubbing fastness. Vat dyes are chemically complex dyes, insoluble in water, and need to be reduced to leuco form in sodium hydrosulphite alkaline solution before applying it to cotton/rayon fibers.

Properties of Vat dyes:

• Vat dyes are generally insoluble in water and natural colouring dyes.
• The vatting process is necessary for making the insoluble vat dyes into a soluble form. The final colour is achieved by the oxidation process.
• The dye is applied in a soluble and reduced form to permeate the fiber and then oxidized in the fiber back to its original insoluble form.
• Any of a large class of water-insoluble dyes, such as indigo and the anthraquinone derivatives, are used particularly on cellulosic fibers.
• Brilliant colours are attained in most shades as vat dyes are having especially washing fastness and lightfastness.
